LIINES - As Shadows Fall LIINES

Manchester post-punk three-piece LIINES will release their new EP, As Shadows Fall on Friday 23 October – their first new music in over two years and their first physical release since 2020. Written by vocalist/guitarist Zoe McVeigh and drummer Leila O'Sullivan, the EP was recorded at Unit 13 Studios in London, produced and mixed by Paul Tipler (Stereolab, Elastica, Placebo), and mastered by Katie Tavini (Nadine Shah, Bloc Party, Arlo Parks).Across its five tracks, As Shadows Fall sees LIINES return to the taut, driving post-punk that has defined the band’s sound for more than a decade. Reuniting with producer Paul Tipler, who also produced debut album Stop-Start, the EP feels unmistakably LIINES – urgent, raw and direct. Lead singer, Zoe McVeigh, said: "It's been over two years since we put new music out – and even longer since our last physical release. There's been a lot of life in this gap between records. This EP is us finding our way to being properly 'back' as a band – something we love doing more than anything. This is only the start!"

Since forming in 2014, LIINES have built a reputation as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from Manchester in recent years, winning the Manchester Evening News CityLife Awards Breakthrough Act in 2020. The band have toured with Sleaford Mods, bis and The Wedding Present, supported Ladytron, Ash and Hot Snakes, and reached the final of Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition. They've received airplay from BBC 6 Music, Radio X, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.
