Few artists have managed to reinvent themselves with the effortless style and musical intelligence of Robert Palmer. Though modest in stature, Palmer was a giant in the studio, on stage, and across the music video era. His unmistakable voice, smooth, soulful, and edged with grit, carried him through an extraordinary career that spanned pop, rock, blues, jazz, funk, reggae, and beyond.
From his early days fronting Vinegar Joe, through his groundbreaking solo albums recorded in New Orleans, the Bahamas, and London, to his chart‑topping collaborations with The Power Station and UB40, Palmer consistently pushed boundaries while maintaining an impeccable sense of taste. His hits “Every Kinda People”, “Johnny and Mary”, “Addicted To Love”, “Simply Irresistible”, “I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On”, became global classics, amplified by his iconic, stylish visuals that defined the MTV generation.
A gifted multi‑instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Palmer worked with some of the world’s finest musicians, earning multiple Grammy Awards and a reputation as one of the most versatile and sophisticated artists of his time. His sudden passing in 2003 left a void the music world has never fully recovered from.
Collected brings together the very best of Robert Palmer’s remarkable output, from his earliest recordings to his biggest solo hits and celebrated collaborations.
Music On Vinyl proudly presents a special coloured edition of the Robert Palmer Collected album which is available as a limited edition of 5.000 individually numbered copies, pressed on purple coloured vinyl and includes a 4 page booklet with liner notes.
